WEST GLOW FARM
GIVING GARDEN
We Grow. We Gather. We Give.

WE GROW.
We started this farm to rejuvenate the soil and ourselves. As the farm came to life, we felt deeply that part of our purpose was to connect the community to the farm - to the soil, the food and the new life.
WE GATHER.
We always knew that we wanted to share our fresh organic produce with those who see the value in taking care of our bodies and the earth in this way. First, we shared our harvest with CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) members. They purchased a share of the harvest, investing in our mission. We feed them produce and we gain inspiration.
WE GIVE.
Surplus from our harvest went to food banks in the area to help provide nutritious food options to those in need.
We had an opportunity to give more... In Fall of 2025, when SNAP benefits were stopped due to the government shutdown, we learned of neighbors in need. Our friends at Woodmont Christian Church told us about a community of students and families, doing their best to learn and grow and thrive, who lost access to food benefits (SNAP) which had given them the ability to afford the nutritious food essential to well-being. We wanted to help and so did our community. And the West Glow Farm Community Fund was born. Thanks to funding support from generous donors, we were able to provide produce bags to 10 families in need over a nine week period. This fresh, organic produce gave them nourishment and it gave them inspiration. Now, the students and families want their own garden so they can grow and gather and give. And they asked for our help.
OUR VISION
To inspire others to build community with a Giving Garden. We teach those with limited access to fresh produce to select, cultivate and maintain crops that nourish, connect and encourage their families.
Our short term goal is to provide West Glow Farm produce bags to 25 families whose children will attend the MNPS summer program at our partner school - to feed them and to inspire them. These families commit to supporting their students’ academic pursuits and we want to support the families’ health and well-being.
Our long term goal is to assist them in installing a Giving Garden in Fall of 2026. We have commitment from school leadership and staff to assist with operational support and maintenance, and West Glow farmer Geoff is experienced and excited to spend time guiding and teaching the students and staff in building beds, selecting crops and practicing good garden management. This West Glow Farm Community project aims to give the school and families the ability to become self-sufficient in producing nutritious produce.

We Grow. We Gather. We Give.
How can YOU help? We’re so glad you asked!
While our immediate funding priority is the summer program, we are actively pursuing funding for the Giving Garden. All fundraising for the produce bags which exceeds our needs will be allocated to the Giving Garden.
